James Collins

    James is the founding member of the band.  He started Flashback back in 1990.  James is originally from Winder, Ga.  He and his wife, Pat, moved to Rome in 1985 and have a son Jim and a daughter Nicole.  Doctor Collins is a Family Practitioner in Rome.   In other words, when he's not practicing guitar, he's practicing medicine.

    James has played in bands for most of his life with The Genteels and Goodtimes.  He's opened for well-known acts like Goosecreek Symphony, Dr. Hook, Billy Stewart, The Swinging Medallions, The Tams, and the Atlanta Rhythm Section.

    James, or "Doc" or "Doctor Rock",  plays guitar and sings lead and back-up vocals.  His musical influences range from southern rock bands like The Allman Brothers to various soul artists such as Otis Redding.  He also  enjoys listening to the blues guitar greats like Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
